Went and saw my all-time favorite band last night at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando.
My god.. what an AWESOME fucking show. William Duvall is an amazing vocalist and is filling some pretty large shoes very well. The band performed as though they never broke from touring since 1990. They were all spot on and didn't miss all night. Played just shy of 3 hours if I remember correctly.
I've never seen a crowd with such a geniune love for the band and the music. Many times the crowd drowned out the band. It was just sick.
9:30 "Whale & Wasp" (from a recording) came over the speakers with a countdown clock displayed against the wall behind the band. The crowd lost it. The band came out and jumped right into "Again".
About halfway through they played a tribute to Layne Staley on the back wall behind the stage. Just a bunch of pictures and camera footage of the man. When his picture first came up on the wall the crowd went apeshit. Ear splitting screams. I'm telling ya the noise was deafening. Painful. The girl in front of me began crying about halfway through the tribute.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings. I wouldn't have missed this show for my grandmother's funeral. It was my last chance to see my favorite band live after believing for years that they would never tour again (after Layne died). Here's the complete set in order.
