Whats wrong with my guitar pedal?

Its a Digitech Grunge pedal and it worked fine when i got it, but then i didnt use it in a while. Recently I started playing with it again and it wont work. Ive tried like 5 different battaries too and when i plug in both of the cables it barly works. Could it be the cables? or is there a bigger and more expensive problem?

I'm not sure about the pedal but it might just be your cords? you may have a short in one of them, if not sorry just didn't want you to waste money on an inspection or buying a new pedal if its just your cords.
