is a pretty heavy term and it's? common for aussies to describe ponting as legend and down play sachin's acheivement,so who really is the legend

sachin who every time walks into bat carries expectations of billions of fans on his shoulders,one who has to play under immense pressure and expectations .

one who is epitome of humility and grace,one who has never allowed his image to be tarnished by unnecessary pub brawls,a complete player who can handle both fast as well as spin bowling with complete ease.

or ponting who is rude,brash and abrasive particularly on the field,who has been regualrly involved in pub brawls ,who is not at all a complete player and still struggles against quality spin bowling.

these were the personal characteristics and here are the cricketing stats

sachin,in 159 test matches has scored 12773 runs at the avg of 54.58,with 42 centuries

in ODI he has scored 16684 runs at an avg of 44.37 with 43 hundreds

while ponting on the other hand has marginally higher avg in tests , that is simply because he has played less no. of test matches than sachin and i m sure the more no of tests he plays, the more there will be fall in his avg.but he has lesser no of runs and centuries.

but in one day sachin si clearly miles ahead of ponting with 43 centuries as compared to his 26 and also has higher avg than ponting.

which makes him the most consistent player both in odi's as well as test ,truly a legendary batsmen and a genius.
