YES and WHY ?
YES and WHY ?
no
Religion is jumping to conclusions, the opposite of science
Evolution is a scientific fact
You have that reversed. Some Christians and all creationists hold back the advancement of science.
Ha ha ha of course not,,
remember that throughout history scientist have been persecuted for going against what the church had decided,,they are the real criminals,,
Atheists do not believe in god and have little or nothing to do with science unless they are scientists as well as atheists. Those who are not scientists may or may not agree with the principles of science. To say definitively that they are holding science back in any way would of course be a false claim and completely unprovable. To assert that they are moving science forward in any way may be equally false as they are not scientists and I know of no Atheist protests against science to date. If one can assert that atheists do not stand in the way of scientific advancements then it can be asserted that they do nothing to hold science back. Therefore; Atheists do not hold back the advancement of science.
Do evolutionists hold back the evolution of science. Yes and No. They definitely influence the direction of science. They do this by having strict guidelines as to what can be accepted as science and exactly what a scientific investigation is. They also have strict guidelines on what can be accepted as a fact.
I personally like the Ancient Alien theories. No one actually knows how the pyramids were constructed and the task would have been monumental at best. Did the Egyptians actually cut the stones, transport them by boat and lay them in the actual time periods claimed. Science says it is not probable. Architects say is is very unlikely and that we could not do it today. (This obviously is just an example, there are many more arguments.)
If the Egyptians did it, how did they do it. All we have are theories. And what of the Sphinx. What of the Great Pyramid. We have no idea at all who built these. The Egyptians claim the sphinx was already there or that Khafra built it in 2500 BCE. Water erosion on the Sphinx tells an alternative story.
Where is the machinery? Where are the tools? Where are all these boats that carried the blocks? Where are the oars. Where are the bones of the dead slaves?
Still, just asserting that Aliens did it is not the same thing as having evidence. I'm still waiting for an alien body to be found or some alien machinery. Nevertheless, the theories are entertaining and should be accepted as nothing more than entertainment.
Could the aliens have introduced life to the planet? It is a theory, but like the aliens building the pyramids or the sphinx, there just isn't any evidence. Science does not randomly accept ideas without facts. Interpreting a few cave drawings, citing 'cargo-cult development,' or finding a few insects that look like planes is just not enough to base an entire theory on. So is science holding back scientific development. Well, to a degree yes.
Science holds back its own development by challenging each new idea to pass a rigorous investigative process. This may cause science to advance more slowly, even slower than some people might like, but each step that science takes is generally placed on a solid foundation of supporting facts and evidence. Evolutionists are scientists and as such they require strict evidence for their assertions. They are not likely to entertain opinions that challenge their own without those challenges meeting the evidencing requirements. So evolutionists do hold back the advancement of science to a degree. At the same time, were an alien space craft found under the sphinx or great pyramid of Giza tomorrow, Science would be radically and forever changed not five minutes after the discovery.
