killed a cricket last night?

Yesterday night, i was in my hammock trying to get some sleep, and I was constantly hearing the sound of a cricket in my yard, so I eventually got really pissed off, and actually went hunting for the blasted thing for about half an hour, with a flashlight, until I found it , and I killed it. I surprisingly felt really guilty and sad that I killed it, and I missed it's sound throughout the night. I had a hard time sleeping that night. Is this normal?
