Thread: My engine light is flashing on my 2001 taurus Ford ses?

Do any body know how to change a coil. It is a misfire on cylinder
#1 If so can you please walk me through it.
I took it to a mechanic and he told me it was a cylinder #1 misfire. And I had my spark plugs changed in Aug.

did not check the spark plugs, I will do that now

why are you sure it is the coil? the coil on a taurus is a one peice coil and ignition. I would be more inclined to believe it is merely a bad spark plug. buy some good plugs and change them one at a time, making sure to get the wires pressed back on firmly. it is not that hard and as long as you take your time it will go smoothly.

When you have a misfire sometimes its just your spark plug wire that's loose or bad. Does your car have individual coils?
