My sister has a chestnut and he goes really nice in a deep green. He's positively orange in the winter but a lovely golden chestnut in the summer and he's difficult to get colours for.
It depends on the type, but most chestnuts look great with light blue, hunter or light green, purple as you said, black or the classic white (saddle pad).
But it also depends on your personal preferences. If you want a multicoloured dotty crazy looking rug, then go for it!

This website is amazing when it comes to looking at how well colors go with a certain color horse. :]
I ride a bright chestnut OTTB gelding, and we have a /lot/ of chestnuts at my barn. We have a tendancy to play around with them and dress them up in different colors.
My personal preferance for chestnuts is always bright colors; bright purple, bright blue, lime green, and even some pastel or lighter colors; a light sky blue, lilac, rosey pink, mint green, etc.
A lot of it depends on how saturated your chestnut is; there's a liver chestnut at my barn who looks adorable in light pink pads and boots, and the bright chestnut I ride looks best in bright blue or green. :]

Recently, spandex suit have become a special development within fashion culture. Zentai, in Japanese, signifies full body. Hence, lycra bodysuits are simply skin tight zentai suits that are worn to flatter someone's allure to the fullest extent. Consequently tight fitting zentai suit readily take the specific form of one's body when you wear them.
