Are Newsgroup speeds better than other filesharing methods?

For me i get 900KB/s plus on some decently seeded torrents from sct , w/ newsgroups i get only around 340KB/s because thats the cap my isp sets on binaries. So for me BT is faster then newsgroups. I guess if i paid for a newsserver i would get my max speed from them, but unsure.?

*Bright idea- Someone should make a Newsleecher lite version; N-lite! h34r:
Just cut out all the article reading crap and make it's sole purpose NZB grabbing.
    Full screenshot:

What is crap about Newsleecher most people prefer it and the article reading is a needed feature because it tells you how many articles is left by words and visually if you can leech a article in your retention range the program can also be easily minamized and still allow the user interaction with it's extensive features. It also allows for the selection of articles to leech if you use supersearch etc...,to much features for ya? because it's not free?:P

I max out my 3meg line, 360k a second. From my ISP's new servers. They carry all decent binary groups

I think you mean 10Mbit, as your download rate is a little over 1 Megabyte. Your download rate is a tenth of your line speed.

But I must agree, Usenet is much much much better than say Torrent.
