Jamie's School Dinners was mainly set in Kidbrooke School in the London Borough of Greenwich, although he did visit some other schools.

I think if you like Jamie, then you'll love this. I was gripped by this the first time around and fascinated as he explored different food traditions and cultures across America. He overcame a hell of a lot of stick, (and that was only on RAB! ) but no denying his passion and I'm still cooking and enjoying his smokey cajun chicken recipe!

Seems to me its a very typical American response (not saying all Americans are like this but there's a large percentage) that don't like being told what to do, to change their ways and so on. It's the way they have been brought up, in this country it wasn't such a problem. Someone of expertise showing us what was wrong and showing our ignorance couldn't go on much longer. However having an outsider do that, no matter what his background is a different story. Would this country have accepted it if a foreigner came into our schools and tried to change things. I doubt it would work.
If someone can not see the method is broken, why fix it? Nobody would, plus the fact Jamie has all this redtape rubbish to put up with compared with this country where you can basically knock on Number 10 or local MP's etc and demand answers. It looks an impossible task, I'm watching this UK pace so I have no idea of the outcome but much like in this country, you can't just change the school meals, the home life you have to deal with the politics too. However America doesn't like change even if it makes sense, just look at this health bill thing. (Different matter, but a good indication of what I mean)

The thing with Nora was, she didn't just roll over, she gave him back something she brought up all the problems with making 'proper' food and challenged him to fix them.
This lot aren't even interested in cooking proper food, it seems, just looks like they're going to fight him purely on principle.
That said it seems like there's one person leading in that kitchen through force of personality and the others just follow.

I don't know about that. Imagine if the position was reversed and we had some Yank over lecturing us about nutrition.
Another thing that makes me smile, does Jamie Oliver look a picture of health ?..he always appears to be carrying a little too much weight himself.
