or is it possible to downgrade it so to speak and switch it back to it's orignal settings? accidently upgraded my phone and would hate to have to sell it because i cant unlock it again

You need not downgrade it. You can unlock your iPhone with this firmware itself. All you need to do is to visit Simpleunlocking.com and get the remote unlocking service. This method unlocking is safe, simple, affordable and quick. It doesn't require a jailbreak too. Good luck mate.
