Oooh eck I can't wait either. Hoping it'll air soon. I love these biopics type dramas
I hope they advertise this well, I love Hattie in everything I've seen her in and she's a hoot in any interviews as well. I really like Ruth Jones too so I'm sure she'll do Hattie justice.
Oh I agree, Hattie was a classic and you know, I love the fact that she was a larger lady. LOL I know it sounRAB odd but the personality, the humour suited her image. Some people are that way and it's great. I also like how Ruth Jones is actually quite a varied actress and she was in a play once that I saw (non comedy) and her acting on being serious and dramatic was brilliant! Have high hopes for this.
Make sure to watch 'The One show' tonight as she's on
BBC Trailer which includes 'hattie'

I've got that one on DVD. The plot is as rubbish as usual, but the girls in it are fantastic. There's something really endearing about a period when tarty girls in films were expected to put on a posh accent and refer to their boyfrienRAB as "gentlemen acquaintances".
Looking forward to the documentary, but I don't think a new Carry On would work. The originals from the 50s and 60s can be funny and endearing because they are a bit smutty, but as the years went on they had to get more and more smutty to get any laughs, and by the 70s it was like listening to your drunken grandmother telling dirty jokes. Just not funny, and actually quite embarrassing.
I've just watched the BBC drama trailer. Blimey, Ruth Jones in naughty underwear! I'm feeling rather distracted now. Blimey!
I'm looking forward to it too, I saw a documentary on Hattie's life and career a while back and it was fascinating, she was always my favourite in the Carry On films, and I loved her little cameo in School for Scoundrels, I think Ruth will do a great job playing her.
Oh and Robert Bathurst is playing John I think, here's his IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0061106/
I'll keep an eye open for the trailer: thanks!
I've often thought a new Carry On would be a good diea, but would need to be handled with care. The recent ieda of Carry On London has, luckily, died on its arse.
I'd love to see a new hospital film. Matrons are back in hospitals, and Meera Syal would be good casting. She's also finish off the old argument about Carry Ons being racist/stereotyped. Lisa Riley or Debbie Chazen would be perfect as a sexy nurse: again being a big girl, they'd overturn the stuff about fat girls being the butt of jokes.
Aidan Turner as her toy-boy is rather distracting too!
