It is a must watch. They should show it in Schools.

The box set I have has ten episodes of BOB plus an 80-minute documentary on the real Easy Company, behind the scenes stuff and the premiere in Normandy which was presided over by Tom Hanks. Hanks also makes a cameo appearance as a British officer in one episode (forgotten which one !) Hanks also directed part 5 CrossroaRAB and co-wrote part 1 (Currahee) with Erik Jendreson.
Is it good? it is phenomenal, a true masterpiece of TV making.
pjw1985 it is going very cheap now on DVD/Blu Ray.
As others have said don't google any of the story, watch it with fresh eyes and be prepared to be drawn in by brilliant characters, mind blowing set pieces, stunning direction and acting, sublime editing.
Have I sold it enough yet
Seriously, you will not regret it.
do it, do it now!
also, get the book, it's equally as good and fills in a few of the holes
I have watched the series probably 10 times now... its brilliant, and I have yet to meet anyone who disagrees.
You can get it really cheap online now as a box set.
Just to add my bit, and to agree with everything everyone has said. Watch it and then come back and let us know what you think. A stunning piece of television.
The box set tenRAB to get pulled out every Christmas at our house.
Once you start, it becomes compulsive viewing.
Enjoy, OP
Me too. Once they get into the main story, it's pretty mch a standard war pic.
BoB, on the other hand, is an amazing peice of work. It lives up to every bit of praise you've heard.
It also has tremendous re-watch value. This is good because there are a lot of characters thrown at you very early on.
I love that bit when the new recruits look up at Mt Currahee and one says "I bet we have to run up that at the end of all this" then the drill sergeant tells them they are about to run up it now on the first day..
Ha. The Basilone episodes were more like a Disney film than a gritty war series.
