I dont like Brief Encounter much. I think both the main characters are selfish and unlikeable.
Love "12 angry men" so much I bought it on DVD

Anyone mentioned The Song of Bernadette?
and the faraway tree
Suspicion is one of my favourite films, someone said earlier That Hitchock changed the ending. Does anyone Know how He planned for the movie to end? I thought that the twist changed the whole feel of the film and made it a great film.
You're right it wasn't in colour. Hilarious film.

I always promise myself that I'll make an effort to watch some of these older 'classic' films, but whenever I try I get bored quickly and turn over to Eastenders of some other tripe
Any recommendations for some that are worth watching?
The Lady Vanishes is on at 2.40pm on BBC2 this afternoon.
Double Indemnity, The Third Man, Rumble Fish, Night Of The Living Dead and Raging Bull are all pretty good.
Gentleman's Agreement with Gregory Peck is on C4 at 1pm now for anyone who's able to watch it.
And Green for Danger at 5.05pm with Alistair Sim
I think we're looking for films that are more than just 2 years old folks.
Although if we're suggesting more recent b&w films as well I suppose you can add Schindler's List to the reco pool. Assuming there's anyone left who hasn't watched it yet...
