Heath Ledger's Joker.

Watching Heath Ledger's remarkable performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight, I was nagged by the feeling that I'd seen him before, that he'd based it on someone, perhaps another actor or character, but I can't bring anyone to mind. The lip licking and hair straightening definitely remind me of someone.
Am I imagining things?

If that's referred to me I'll have you know I'm not a troll - I did like Ledger's performace - gave me a good chuckle - esp the bit where he was in the hospital but oscar worthy? I personally dont think so. TBH, the lick lipping got on my nerves quite a lot.
So sorry for having an opinion thats not yours pgfmedia and I'm certainly not a troll darthdribble. Last time I looked these forums were for discussing and voicing opinions - thats mine on Ledger's joker. Not oscar worthy. Sorry.

He deserves to be nominated, but I won't be crying if he doesn't get it.

Personally, I absolutely LOVED Ledger's portrayal of The Joker. It's the first time in nearly 20 years where I've actually been unnerved by a movie "villain", since Joe Pesci's 'Tommy DeVito' in Goodfellas.

Ledger's role was very well written, very well researched and extremely well acted and worthy of an Oscar nomination, imo. I don't think that those who don't think it is should be mocked or 'shouted down' on here, though.

Unbelievable that loaRAB of people in America have the blu-rays already!!! Pictures and videos posted and everything. There are clips of a few deleted scenes in one of the featurettes including the joker riding away in a bus watching the rest of the hospital explode plus some amazing never before seen stills. Video quality looks to be amazing too.

I watched it a few months ago and can hardly remember his performance but I can remember Aaron Eckhart's, if anyone deserves a Oscar from this film it's him.

shame they have not included any actors extras on the 2-disc dvd edition I was hoping they may have interviewed him on the characters creation process whilst they made the film.

TBH I think he should get best supporting actor as he wasn't in the film enough to get the best actor award. His performance as the joker was the only thing that kept me interested in the film, I think it is vastly overrated and was quite boring in parts.
