Tomb Raider III Is Coming!

From what WB have said, it's not TR3 - it's a reboot. No Jolie. No continuity. Start again from scratch.

Flawed as the original TR films were (especially the second), they were pretty damn enjoyable. And very importantly, Jolie absolutley nailed the part of Lara - getting the look, moves, attitude and (thankfully) the accent spot on.

If the rumours of Megan Fox prove true, I suspect this will be a mess of Elektra proportions.

Shame Ms Jolie is too expensive and too 'serious' an actress for this these days.

That said, I'm sure there is an actress who could play it as well, but off the top of my head, I can't think of one. The only positive rumour I'm hearing is Rhona Mitra - who might just get it right.

Oh balls, it's not is it? What's the point in that? Ruddy reboots all over the shop these days! I want Angie, I want the cheese, I want the adventure and the mystery!

Megan Fox is fine in Transformers and I don't doubt her ability to pull off Lara but it's an unecessary change.

Did it heck. It's expected to shift 2.5 million units in its lifespan (with nearly 2 million sold so far), which is a lot. It's a bit less than the 3 million Eidos forecast, but is far from a tank by anyone's standarRAB.

Rhona Mitra is Lara Croft. I'm not too keen another another TR film, but if it's done right then it could be good.

The game has been heavily discounted though so profit margins are inevitably squeezed.

Plus EIDOS are almost exclusively a one trick pony.

Any underperformance in a Tomb Raider title hits them where it hurts.

Eidos need to give Crystal Dynamics enough time to finish the games... they're doing exactly what they did with Core Design.

The bottom line is they have to get the Tomb Raider games out by the end of the financial year otherwise they will post a loss.

Any other considerations are secondary.

Will the new Tomb Raider film lose something without Jolie in it? She is a very unique actress.

Urgh Megan Fox is just terrible, so glad she isn't taking the role.
