iPhone firmware 4.1 unlock?

Hi guys... I am planning to purchase an iPhone 4 firmware 4.1. But it has come to my attention that there is no unlock for it as yet. They say it will come out as soon as apple releases firmware 4.2. Than, the apple site will sell iPhones with 4.2 firmware installed rite? Than i'll be stuck waiting for a 4.2 unlock... so do you think I should just get the iPhone 4firmware 4.1, and wait until the unlock comes out?
