But when i think of catwoman, i just think of a really strong sexy black woman. I think that's Halle berry did it. I just can really imagine more a black actress doing it. I don't know why.

I liked Catwoman. Suprised it bombed.

Catwoman has been black before too. Eartha Kitt for example although whether the 1960's series is considered canon I have no idea.

Berry is about as white a black person as you can get anyway, i'm just saying I can't imagine a truly black woman as Catwoman.

She has a nice body and everything but i think even if she was offered the role she would not take it. I think she is a possible choice i mean i dont think anybody expected Heath Ledger to be picked for The Joker or Aaron Eckhart to be chosen for Harvey Dent and look how good of a job they did. Nolan likes to make unpredictible choices for the roles in his films i mean Robin Williams [SPOILER]as a freaky killer [/SPOILER]in Insomnia was great.

Im pretty sure i read somewhere that she denied a role in the new bond movie as the new bond girl because she wanted a bigger role. GREEDY!!

She hasn't even shown her acting skills she didn't get much to show off in the Transformers she seemed to be herself in How to Lose FrienRAB and Alienate People and haven't seen how she looks in Jennifers Body

I think canon is quite hard to pin down with something like Batman because there are so many different incarnations. No adaptation has truly followed the source material exactly. There's so much retconning in the comics, canon is hard to pin down. Each adaptation has followed its own course.

As for Catwoman, I would guess if Nolan uses the character he would use Selina Kyle who has always been white in the comics. That's not to say though she can't be played by a black actress.

Aside from cartoons, the only time the original Selina Kyle Catwoman has appeared on film was played by Michelle Pfeiffer in Batman Returns. Catwoman's true identity was never mentioned in the 1960s series, in fact she was three different women. Halle Berry's Catwoman was Patience Phillips. So I guess she's a character that is adaptable.

Even Selina's origins have been retconned over the years. I'd like to see Nolan use the prostitute version of Selina like in Frank Miller's Batman: Year One. I think that would fit very well with the escalating crime in his Gotham City.
