"Big" Alternative Ending?

First of all, sorry for being rather vague and confusing but....

I watched "Big" yesterday afternoon on BBC1 and at the end the two boys walk off into the distance which is the only ending at first which I could remember.

However, my housemate reckoned there was an alternative ending which now I've thought more about I think I've seen.

I'm not going to say what we thought the alternative ending was because I want to see if anyone else knows.

So does anyone know an alternative ending to "Big" and if so what is it?

[spoiler]A home video release of this movie in New Zealand is rumored to have included an alternate ending. The alternate ending shows young Josh sitting in his classroom at school when he turns around to notice a young female classmate of whom he recognises as Susan - who went back to the fairground machine and wished that she was Josh's age. The US DVD release of this film simply shows Josh and Billy walking up their street, then the credits roll in.[/spoiler]

It also says this ending was shown in test screenings then dropped.

Cant say ive ever seen the alternate one,i love this film though its one ive seen tonnes of times mostly when i was little!

I have never seen the alternative ending but I love Big and never get sick of watching it. Do you think there will be a special edition DVD with the alternative ending?

I did try and google this but there are so many films with the word "Big" in, I gave up after a bit

If your thinking of an ending where the guy goes back to school and they introduce a new girl student and its his girlfriend thats off another similar film which i cant remember the name of

but its about a boy who has an experiment in his garage and ages himself, becomes a teacher and falls in love with a women teacher.

Maybe you have the two confused
