Some ten years ago I had a Japanese friend who was good at drawing. He drew a cartoon type hen and said it's me (my nose is quite long). Then he invited me to come to his house to cook some noodles and when I said I can't come that day he got so angry he stopped talking to me. Also, he was carrying a camera all the time and was obsessed with taking photos.
Another Japanese person that I've met grabbed my nose when we were saying bye. I accepted this as a cultural difference but even then, isn't this a bit weird?
Also, how to know what Japanese are thinking? From my experience, I always wanted to make friends with Japanese because I like Japanese books and language etc. But I found it impossible, because they never say what they really think or feel. They just stop talking to you if they don't like something? Is this all because of my nose?
I would appreciate if you share your weird experiences with Japanese people.
I know about China and Korea and its scary but I've always been hypnotized by the Japanese culture since I saw my first anime and read Basho etc
