Ok, I just did a poll of people at my work and asked them if the US should become a part of Canada. ALL 21 people I asked said no. A poll like this shows absolutely nothing.
Here are some alarming stats that just show how pathetic Canada actually is. The unemployment rate in Canada is 7.8%, compared to 5.4% in the US. The average salary for workers in Canda is $31,000, and for workers in the US it is $36,000. GDP per capita is $38,000 in the US, compared to $29,000 in Canada. GDP growth in the US is 3.1%, compared to 1.6% in Canada. The inflation rate in Canada is 2.8%, compared to 2.3% in the US. Not to mention the exchange rate of the Canadian dollar in relation to the US dollar.
Look at the education system:
No high school degree: Canada 33% US 21%
High school degree: Canada 23% US 30%
Bachelor's degree: Canada 10% US 15%
Master's degree: Canada 2.6% US 4%
And this one goes out to Daewoo, who claims the Canadian economy is performing better than the US economy, and for those who say the US is too far in debt. Look at the national debt of both countries. If you look at each person's share of the national debt of each country (assuming each person has the same share), Canadian citizens have a personal share of $25,000, and so do US citizens. So how is our economy so bad?
