The convenience factor of on-demand is obviously very appealing to people, along with the perk of not having to physically store movies. But there are some aspects of On-demand that concern me. For one thing, almost everyone has fun experiences going to video stores and picking out movies to watch with friends and family. Soon that won't exist. Also how many times have you looked around a movie store and found something you never would of thought of such as an old B-rate movie and enjoyed it? That's another thing that concerns me...people aren't naturally creative when it comes to thinking of movies to watch. On-demand basically gives you a big selection of all the new movies and the most popular old movies. So most the time people will lazily pick one of the first new movies that pops up even if they aren't that excited about it, or search for a popular older movie that comes to mind like Forrest Gump instead of trying something different.
