what are 3 characters besides Scout, Atticus and Jem that were important to the overall themes behind the story?

this is for an essay and i was thinking about doing calpurnia, boo radley and dill...how were they important to the story and how would the book not have been possible if those 3 or any other characters weren't in the story? can you give as many details as you can? pleaseee :]

You could say (generalisation) that through the contacts with these characters, the three main characters, discovered that the world is not simple, black-and-white, that there are different iew point and details to it. This is why they tolerated, contacted, befriended and supported the black minority. etc.
