If you had all your records stolen....

This makes sense...getting a good variety to get started with. I'm 33.

Yeah I feel the same way. I've invested so much time and money into my physical collection, that if it got stolen I'd cry a few rivers and be slightly relieved to be free of something that essentially owns me. Plus these days I download more than I buy, and when I buy I've already heard the album most times so I just throw it on the shelf. I would just take the opportunity to move on.

This make sense too. I may not re-purchase anything I already owned unless it meets the following criteria: Awesome music & excellent artwork or packaging.

Lots of great stuff posted so far. Perhaps I'll work up a list soon.

    ALRIGHT '76  hahaha

this exact situation happened to my roommate about 10 years ago. the physical replacements for his collection have been very few and very far between since. can't say i really blame him though.

heck they didn't get much airplay besides that one single. they released an awesome video for 'couch surfer' as well but didn't replicate their initial success and i don't remeraber ever seeing another video.

I think this is a really great story. I enjoyed reading it. Not everyone would understand how much something like that could mean to someone. Are you still frienRAB with that girl?

If you had all your records stolen....

^First album that came to mind when I read this thread.

Going by the idea of what you'd pick up first just to listen to...here's my list. 2-4 are Fabriclive mix's, which are mostly mixes of electronica genre's with quite a bit of variety thrown in as well.

    DJ Shadow - Entroducing
Fabriclive 35 - Marcus Intalex (DnB)
    Fabriclive 22 - Scratch Perverts (Hip-Hop/DnB)
    Fabriclive 26 - Herbaliser (Hip-Hop/Funk)
    Air - Moon Safari
    Dieselboy - Dungeon-masters Guide
    Coltrane - A Love Supreme
Between the Buried and Me - Colors
    Chick Corea - Time Warp
    Noir (Anime) - OST
    PropellerheaRAB - Decksanddrumsandrockandroll
The Faint - Wet From Birth
    Cirrus - Counterfeit
    I Am Ghost - Lover's Requiem
    KMFDM - Retro

    Yeah, that was seriously tough.

Edit: Wow, I forgot BT - Movement In Still Life...that would be my 16th pick up...
