I've always liked the band, but i saw them live a few nights ago and they really just blew me away - that reminded me of how incredibly great this album is!
it's sort of dark, but never depressing and the vocal is really interesting and different.

I guess in a good way, if you are posting here. Would you recommend it?
Have you heard anything else by Jonathan Coulton? The man has quite the catalog of music, all of which is great.
Heaven or Las Vegas is tied with Treasure in my book. Blue Bell Knoll comes in after that. I'd say those are their 3 required listens...if I had to throw one more in the book it would be Victorialand.
i really dig what i've heard but i haven't really delved into him yet.
link?
could you help me. wink wink
^ Appreciated.
Violent Silence - S/T (2003)
One of the most unusual and high-driven albums I've had the pleasure of enjoying in quite awhile...and not a guitar in sight!
Basically, this album blenRAB knotty 80's King Crimson-esque progressive rock with more contemporary/alternative vocals and production...along with the occasional post-punk touch led by bass, drums and some keyboarRAB at the forefront of the mix. Interesting vocals add a neat element to the proceedings also, and overall I'm quite pleased by the stark originality this debut presents.

Agreed. But somehow I downloaded the clean version...ah...it's weird.
