and her other two EPs as well. Fantastic stuff, but Best Coast seriously neeRAB to release a full length soon.

Word spreaRAB fast! It was a rare tip from an IRL friend on my part. Hollar if you want a linky.
I've had that album (the Blitzkrieg one) for some time now and it never took me anywhere when I first listened to it. I'll give the comp a spin and see if anything clicks, but for me there have one been two or three definite "great" albums to come out of the era. And while there are people who will forever associate metal with their upbringing in NWOBHM, I can't get any gratification listening to Motorhead & Iron Maiden albums.
What the fuck is it?
Cosmic Psychos - Self Totaled
I've been diggin' on this album for a few months. Believe it or not, I picked this up years ago because of all things, a boy I had a crush on loved this album and I just wanted to have something in common with him. I listened to it a few times and wasn't really into it...filed it away and didn't pick it back up until a few months ago. I was retarded back in the day...how could I not like this? Natalie Merchant's vocals work perfectly with the folk-bluesy feel of this album, and I just can't get enough of it now. Fave songs are: This House is on Fire, Saint Judas, and Henry Darger.

Husky Rescue - Country Falls
this defies classification. it's sort of indie pop, sort of downtempo electronic...
think Air meets Hooverphonic.
it's Finnish. it's perky and fresh. it's really good.
so just listen and enjoy

Bjork- Vespertine
Dear God this is a near masterpiece. I don't care if it's the ultimate estrogen album, I love this.
It's quality but I didn't enjoy it as much as I did back in the day. Curious how I'll feel about Chaos A.D. after all this time, I remeraber it being more approachable, possibly more varied too.
You know what I started obsessing over from that album? Apes-Ma. It's only forty seconRAB long but just a really depressing song in a sad nostalgic kind of way. Just strangely poetic syrabolism.
And I definitely agree with you, Shiny Beast might approach my second favorite Beefheart album.
