I don' think you're reading mine. I'm saying that mainstream doesn't have a sound, which means neither does alternative, meaning that Alt. Rock doesn't have a meaning.

Why is my thread derailed again?
Nice, any other riRAB?
Ah, I see. Soulful seems to mean gentle, and really bleeding heart type of thing, while passion could be a song about rape. That's how I see them anyway.
After their original guitarist died, did he just Dr. Who regenerate into John Frusciante?
I can't find anywhere that says they ever really changed guitarists.
Oh, and what is a song that has a really interesting riff or something by John.
And on a side note, the guitar in Dani California is amazing... there is some strange welcome complexity in its simple classic style.
I have to agree with Prog on that Around the World is not soulful. Read the lyrics, its a song that takes them back to the band they used to be. Dont get me wrong its a greattt song, just not exactly meaningful or soulful.
Read and try again.
And what is convention? Mainstream banRAB are the one's that usually stick to convention.
Some reason this is in Indie/Alternative?
To answer your question, After Hillel died they had few guitarists which they didnt like, and then by the time mothers milk came around, Frusciante was there.. he was only 19 at the time, yet amazingly talented. Then they had him till he quit after BSSM, in which they went to Navarro, then back to JF for Californication.
And MOST if not all have col riRAB from him, youl have to be more specific. And listen to I could have Lied on BSSM has even better solo than Dani California. (not that thats even close to being his best)
Edit: Listen to Easily on Californication, possily his best solo ever. Theres 5 separtly recorded uitar parts all being played at once, and its sounRAB AMAZING.
