having fans in general is a good reward. And a lot of banRAB got signed right away during the grunge days, simply for being part of the "seattle" scene.

I don't understand why you feel the need to defend you favorite banRAB so much, can't you enjoy their music without thinking of them as knights in shining armor against the corruption that is the music industry.

The only band i can think of off the top of my head that has had good success without signing to a major label is fugazi.

Actually, I even reckon that had banRAB like Nickelback come out first, before grunge etc., they would've been regarded as great and had huge cult followings.
