I don't like you.
I don't like you.
Do you mean 7th order Differential equation? If so, good luck to you. lol
I agree with your point that every meraber of DT is very talented though. I think the most underrated meraber is La Brie. Many people criticise his vocals but I really like them. Myung doesn't receive enough recognition either. He's one of my favourite bassists.
I wasn't just refering to this thread. You have a tendency to treat it like you're better then everyone else and half you're arguing skills consist of going on about knowledge you have which you rarely back up, and you really do act arrogant. I was trying to be as nice about it as possible, but seriously get off your high horse.
Many singers also seem to sing vibrato on every note, suggesting that they couldn't actually keep a clear, level tone if they wanted to. The parts of the first Dream Theatre song on your link suggested that LaBrie used vibrato a lot because his flat voice might sound too weak (just going on what I heard).
Okay, now apply that same thinking to how LaBrie is possibly the greatest singer.
You never back your arguments up, and I'm not suprised, good luck trying to find proof when you've got your head in the sand.
I like Dream Theater, but the fanaticism over the band bugs me. They're nowhere near as great as their fans seem to think they are.
Actually, after looking up the definition. You're right, they almost all use the word innate.

Because that's completely objective.
Music quality is entirely subjective, however I think talent can be measured objectively somewhat. So that's where we differ.
Wrong.
Technical skill is in itself a talent, therefore it makes you talented to a degree. To compose a great melody is entirely subjective, sure writing a catchy melody ain't easy for anybody, however I think it takes a lot more talent to make a complex and catchy melody than a simple and catchy melody.
This is just durab. Basically you're saying you shouldn't have any respect for musicians who put a lot of love, care and effort into their music just because you don't like it?
You can not like say The Beatles or Stevie Wonder, but to say they're talentless is objectively wrong.
No. I don't care if it bothers you, I can hate a persons music and still admire their talent, that's my personal philosophy and if that annoys you then too bad.
