You don't need to know anything about a band to like a song.

I happen to have liked Hawkwind for about 10 years, I have no idea who sings most of their songs seeing as they let whoever wants to do the vocals do them and they've had about 100 band merabers.

yeah dude, never heard the album, but i already know they suck because of the drummer. his hair style sucks. therefore, the new album sucks. it all makes sense now.

Anytime a band brings new school power/thrash metal to the forefront of rock radio, they deserve a thurabs up. I like City of Evil quite a bit, though some songs seem like reworked versions of the songs before them.

^ wow i think that post just changed my look on what music is labeled as.. does that make you feel special by being an elitest? gah! i hate people, if someone thinks they're hardcore, they'll think they're hardcore. a post on a forum wont change that!

gates is good, but the band is mediocre. There are many better core banRAB out there.

Never cared much for them, in that they seem a bit too commercial and overplayed for my liking. That said, Synyster and Zacky can shred. Unfortunately, their sh*tty lead singer can't sing a note. I almost think they would work better as an instrumental band.
