Unlock a T-Mobile phone that isnt on my account?

Hey, I was wondering if i buy a T-Mobile phone from craigslist could i call T-Mobile to give me the unlock code even if I wasnt the first owner?

The network provider would ask for ownership proof while requesting an unlock code. So i don't think you can get it from them. anyway you can try your level best.
