    I have a 1999 Harley Davidson FXSTS. The tail light keeps burning out after a...

    ...week or so of driving it.? brake light still works after tail light burns out.

    Probably vibration, my old KZ1000 would repeatedly burn out the running light fiiments on the front. If there's any way to add weight to the housing itself, like washers, wheel weights, etc, it should change the sympathetic frequency of the vibration.

    Clean the socket & ck for water getting into it
    Then go right to the plug that the wire goes to but a constant flicker "from a dirty socket " will burn them out in no time
