A 77-year-old English woman died earlier this week, suffocated alive under a mountain of her own belongings.
Joan Cunnane was found buried under a 3 ft pile of suitcases. Police found Cunnane’s house neatly packed full of unopened and unused goods, with only a 2ft-wide path open to get around. A neighbor said that Cunnane would spend hours at department stores “rather than spending evenings at home, which was crammed full but amazingly tidy.” Cunnane lived alone, and was a "deeply private lady." Police say there were no suspicious circumstances, and the missing persons file on Joan Cunnane has been closed. [Daily Mail]
