I went to one of the Cricket stores for the launch today in SD. Lots of staff there, many from out of state, and lots of people standing in line to get activated. A nice buzz. Out of interest, I asked about the Razr and they said they were sold out - only had 20 to start with.
I bought the bottom end phone ($70 with $50 discount) and signed up for the $30 'holiday promotion' - local only but with voicemail (no 3 way, no callerid).
I'd really like to reflash an old Verizon Treo 600 a friend gave me and use that (I've been using a GSM Treo 600), but there seem to be mixed opinions on how easy that is or what gear I'll need to pull it off. (If anyone can suggest somewhere in SD I can take it to have it unlocked I'd appreciate it.)
I know coverage at home will be excellent as there's an antenna outside my door almost, but it'll be interesting to see how it is around town. Judging by the nuraber of antennas I've seen, I'm optimistic!
