How about MMS, any success????

That was just pure frustration speaking, please no PM's or anymore in this thread. Sorry. I'm not ready to sell yet. I have to wait for my 6900 to get here. I have to get a new phone up and working first. Then I'll send it to someone who promises to get an EVDO and MMS fix/kitchen/custom ROM for this phone.
Getting Cricket to take the ESN is the easiest part about it... Getting the phone to program via *228 is another...
hey buddy-
i'm sure arcsoft would work if you could get web going...i had one of these in my hanRAB for about 10 mins a few months ago and just did an i760 about two weeks ago...didn't have either one long enough to get web working, but the prob seemed to bo something different than MIP setting reverting...the phone stays at simple IP only, but the error i got was username and password error...i tried an account refresh with the i760 but it was a no go...i believe there may be a pst setting in the device kinda like the mogul's ##PST menu...i came to this assumption b/c the mogul will give you the username/pass error if you do not set it under the security section of that PST menu...
***this is only a guess and should be taken lightly...i never get my hanRAB on these long enough to figure out wap...my 2 customers have just wanted a quick simple flash...i hope to buy an i760 eventually and pimp it...i wouldn't keep it b/c of the annoying *** end button on the side where you always hit it.
i cant not get samsung pst lite to open it will open to where u select the phone then errors out
Is there a way to get a Cricket PRL for this phone on the phone? Any help? I have one that is on Verizon that I could use *22804 to program to Cricket, but I don't want to lose the roaming and wap that I'm paying for?
lol random u just out bid me u jerk lmao
No. I may have found a spot for it in the registry, but I'm not to sure about editing the registry.
For those of you looking for steps to get your i730 to cricket here is what I did. I have a Samsung i730 from Verizon with the YE05 firmware. Windows Mobile 2003 SE. If you have a different version there will be differences.
1. Call Cricket with your ESN, pay the $15
2. Use *228XX depending on where you are to OTASP your phone
3. put the phone in passthrough mode, using ##7284
4. Uninstall ActiveSync from your PC
5. Use Samsung PST Lite to change your IS-95/1XDataParameter from vz3gw.com to mycricket.com on line 31, write to phone
6. Soft reset
7. Make a dial up connection (My ISP) to #777 with your [email protected] password cricket Proxy servers wap.mycricket.com port 8080
Done. Anybody who can hack the MMS let me know by PM or in this thread.
"errors out" is not very specific...
I have mine with windows mobile 5 (WM5), and the steps for it are exactly the same as WM2003SE, except for the passthrough mode, that on WM5, you can do it using the control panel (it already has a Data Mode option...). Another thing i did different: i uploaded the prl 1.040, before calling cricket, instead of OTASP....
You have to do everything again after a hard reset for WAP settings, verizon has a routine that creates all connections again erasing the old programming, changing the PPP login information as well (line 31).....
:2thurabs: Another nice stuff, is the Thread Messaging, (using Palm Thread Messaging, version beta4)....works perfect, and you can see messages just like a chat software...
About MMS, i tried many different softwares (Arcsoft Composer (many versions), and many others), but phone starts acting stranger when software is loaded..... but one promissing software solution for MMS will be the Palm Thread Messaging, you can compose MMS perfectly, but since its still in beta4 version, results in a error when sending MMS message for AKU < 2.3 (WM5 for i730 is 2.2).
if somebody neeRAB the links for Samsung PSTLite.... just follow the link....
and it has some nice information about programming the i730...
