Is college level astronomy a difficult class?

It's not required but I believe it would be interesting to take, it's the first level so I'm guessing it's relatively basic.
Is this class difficult to learn and remember what you learn?
    I'm asking academically.
For instance economics is a lot of memorizing tons of terms which is extremely hard on the final exam.

Do you have to memorize a lot of names of stars and whatever else in the universe, perhaps equations etc.?

That all depends on your level of interest. Some find it much easier than others. If it is not required, give it a shot. You might like it. If not, drop out and no harm done.
