I'm kinda curious as to my mother's family background and wouldn't mind saving up to run some kind of genealogical test to find out more. But I'm wondering if I could really discover anything useful. This is what I know about her: I know the name of her adoptive mother, her original name (which is, unfortunately, a very common Mexican name), the hospital she was born in, and the city she was born in. I am not sure if my mother has her birth mother's name. Her birth mother came from somewhere across the border to have my mom in Texas. Her birth mother was Hispanic, her birth father was Asian.

What do you think? With the help of a genealogical test, would it really be enough to learn more about her blood family's background?
