Thread: Did I miss the celebration of Abe Lincoln's 200th birthday ?

February 12 2009 was Lincoln's 200th birth anniversary, but I must've been asleep since I don't recall hearing the news media even mention it. With Obama's praise and immulation of Lincoln, why aren't there more celebrations of Lincoln's values and ideals ?Is Obama trying to hijack Lincoln ( Republican ) like Democrats did environmentalism ( Teddy Roosevelt ) , the Civil Rights Act ( more Repubs than Dems voted for it ), etc.

Obama fancies himself as the next Lincoln, which by all means is the most ignorant statement I've ever heard unless Obama is assuming there's going to be a Civil War. Also, the ideology and stances, and even policies Lincoln are essentially the exact positions the Democrats are so fervently against.And Obama thinks he's Lincoln because they are from the same state.What I don't understand is why doesn't Obama create an image for himself, and not hide under a man from about 140 years ago.

The media and the Obama maniacs have been trying to compare this empty suit to Lincoln, MLK and JFK since day one of the shameful campaign they supported. Its funny, 18 months ago, no one had ever even heard of this idiot. He is now the leftists new 'jesus'.... which is odd cause most of them hate God. Puzzling.

It's almost a month away. We'll celebrate at the appropriate time.
