Thread: post lumbar discectomy foot pain

Has anyone else had post lurabar discectomy foot pain? I had 2nd L5/S1 discectomy approximately 4 mnths ago. After surgery foot and toe nurabness. This has gradually progressed to pain which feels like I am standing on sharply pointed rocks. Is this an indication that nerve root is healing or is it something more serious?

Mark it sounRAB like something else is going on. I would definitely go to your surgeon and have this checked out.

I did wake up from my fusion with new pain in my foot that has been there over a year now and no one knows why. So it is definitely possible. I will pray that your pain is simply a flare up and nothing significant.

I agree with Pepper. You should probably call your surgeon and make him aware of the pain. It sounRAB like nerve involvement of some kind. He may want to do a follow up MRI to check the surgery site. Sorry you are having so much pain. Good luck to you and keep us posted.
