Thread: Do you think there is an increased consciousness and anxiety about STD's in the gay community?

Compared to the straight community? I was just reading one of the questions here about having "unprotected" with one's partner. And most people said not to do it since there is always risk of infidelity even in a monogamous relationship. It got me thinking, aren't the same risks present with in the straight community? From my understanding a lot of straight couples have unprotected sex, other wise there won't be any kids running around. Or is it just a trust issue that us gay men have? We just can't trust our partners completely.

what you described is a sad but true reality. for those of us that fear STDs, there is definitely an increase of anxietybut then there's a group of gays who have a complacent 180 perspective and thrive on the idea of engaging in unprotected (bare backing) activity
