Okay, before people jump up and down and say, "You shouldn't be on the internet while teaching!" That's not what I am asking. First of all, as a substitute teacher, the only way to find out if there are jobs for the next day, or the next is to go through a county-wide system via the internet. Jobs are posted, and we substitutes must "bid" on them. In order to make a living substituting, you need to check in at least 8 times a day to see if there is any job available for the next day. You can't teach all day, go home, log into your computer and see if there are any jobs available because that is way too late in the day.

Now, the school districts, however, don't give you the passwords to hook up to their wireless because you aren't a permanent teacher. How do you access internet in general without paying $60 a month for some wireless package?

Please know, that I would only be checking the jobs in between classes and at lunch break. Certainly not when students are present.

Thanks!
