Harley Davidson XL1200C just randomly dies.?

I have a 96' HD XL1200 Custom and I'm getting tired of getting left on the side of the road if I dare take it out of town. It runs like a champ until it will just sputter and die. If I let it sit for a while, it might restart, but with no certainty. Getting spark, getting fuel, hung test a new ign coil with no difference, ign trigger still in time and newly replaced. I posted this a couple places including HD Forums so just trying to see if anyone has a clue. Any ideas?

My bud's Sportster exhibited those symptoms, caused by a dirty in-line fuel filter.
I had a similar problem with my Honda Valkyrie when I installed a fuel filter that was too small.

Fuel tank might not be venting, try running with the gas cap opened.
