I found this bike for a good price. I have never rode before...at all, but I want to learn. The bike is running but needs the carbs cleaned. Is this a hard bike to learn on? thank you
He's moving and cant keep it. He wants $300.

I would pass on the bike.
Carb issues can drag on forever. Carb rebuild kits are expensive and hard to find for older bikes.
If it is easy to fix, why doesn't the seller fix it?
big bike for a learner too.. pass on this one get a 250cc & learn to ride..
may cost you more in the long run... but better than dying
If it isn't all beat up and banged up, that sounds like a pretty good price. Gummed up carbs usually need nothing more than a good cleaning and new float bowl gaskets. I seem to recall those bikes having a fairly low seat and weren't excessively heavy, so unless you're a dwarf, you shouldn't have too much trouble. Put it this way, if it were near me, I'd jump on it and I already have two big bikes. And if you find you don't like the bike or don't like riding, you won't be out that much while a decent 250 will cost you at least a couple of grand.
