You don't know what a headset is? It allows you to talk with people during games (for games that support it, which are most online games).
The Bluetooth part means it is wireless, it will connect to the PS3 using Bluetooth technology, just like the PS3 controllers do.
If you like to talk to people while playing games online, then a headset is a must.

its a good all around headset, its a bluetooth and works with the ps3...fun if u like to chat while playing...like cod!!!

Like, if you play COD or other FPSs online, you can chat with your team. That's mainly what it's for.
Also, any bluetooth headset will work, so if you already have one you don't need to buy the Sony one.
