The premium we pay right now is for expensive blu-ray technology,which is brand spanking new.

With no good launch games, why would a gamer want a PS3?

Leave the PS3s to those of us who want to enjoy movies in HD. Believe me, there's plenty of a/v enthusiasts who actually think the PS3 is a good deal

In 5 years, it is more likely that games will be downloaded directly to your console then it is likely that Blu-ray will actually win.

If that happens, the the PS3 buyers all lose because they are stuck with a format that did not win (And likely will not win) and production costs on those systems are going to remain high. Which, obviously means the games will remain high in price.

Yeah, in that regard, the PS3 is the cheapest Blu-Ray player you can get, isn't it? Plus it plays games too. 'tis a bargain to me.
