Nokia N95-2 / N95i / N95 (US) - Availabliity & Pricing Question

Okay, in the spirit of the original N95-1 release, I have read faithful information from Rcadden through his blog, that a 850/1900 WCDMA version is set to hit in August. Please post sightings and price info when you see a 850/1900 WCDMA version of the N95.

First let me take a moment to congratulate Rcadden for achieving blogger relations status with Nokia. That's as big if not bigger than United Global Services status (reference: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=504) for which I shed a tear when I received the super secret call.

When I read this I literally had to hold back tears. However, with mixed emotion because I may be relocating for a couple years to either the UK or Australia. We'll see.

Hopefully the fine folks at Nokia address the battery life issue.

Because from my sources, every N95 has all UTMS bands....it is the firmware itself the determines which one to enable and which to disable.

Therefore, once the US variant gets released, our current N95 units should be able to be converted to a US one as well by flashing the same US variant firmware.

I really hope this is true. Im getting my n95 tommorow (according to FedEx) and I would hate for a US3g version to come out after getting mine at msrp. Oh well....mabe the all black version will be out and I can upgrade for a smal price (sell mine, buy new).

Anyway.....real question, anyone know what the 3g part of teh chp looks like and see if they can verify what chip the n95 uses?
