Setting up open source 3D android game engine - what license?

Hi, am setting up an open source 3D game engine for android but don't know what license to use - GPL, LGPL, BSD? Confused! Need to choose one that makes the engine as open as poss and allows app developers to make commercial games. Advice appreciated!

i'm not sure about the license, but how far along are you with creating the engine? i'd like to try it out if it's somewhat far along.

Hi, I'm the lead developer of the open source game engine in question (Pure3D). It's ready to make games with right now! We just don't want to release it under the "wrong" license.

Nice to see that there's some interest for this I'm afraid we can't share the code just yet, we'll do an official release when we've decided on a license and cleared up some other non-technical issues. At the moment we're just looking to see how potential developers feel about various licenses and see what license people generally feel is best for a 3D game engine.

I have nothing to add to this thread but Welcome to AC. I love seeing developers post here, you guys are a great source of knowledge and I would like to see you all post more here. And can you keep us post on this? It sounds very interesting
