    Tungsten E -advice please

    Hi,

I?m a complete novice. I?ve just purchased a Palm t/e for my job. Now that I have it I would like one or two extras, I would like it to interface with my Phone (Motorola v525), I would like a spellchecker/dictionary and I would like the MP3 to operate. Do I have to purchase any extras /software? If so where from and how much?

    Advice would be appreciated.

One of the better places to purchase Palm softare is at PalmGear. There you will be able to trial and finally purchase most products your are interested in.

    Check out http://www.palmgear.com/

As far as MP3 support - your Tungsten E should have shipped with Real Player which does support MP3 audio. You will need a memory expansion card to store your MP3's.

Can't give you any advice on connection your TE to the your cell phone. Not tried that yet.

    Hello jim333,

With the cellphone thing I don't know I have never tried.

But here is what you are asking for I think.
A good dictionary is the Oxford American Dictionary it is about $19.95 and is a very big dictionary. A good spell checker/thesuraus with MS Word,Excel & Slideshow is either QuickOffice or Documents to go. A good word editor is wordsmith which has a spellchecker and a thesuras.
For the MP3's you can use PocketTunes or Areoplayer I use pockettunes Deluxe edtiotion one of the best out there you can transfer music through WindowMediaPlayer and it also support's WMA (WindowsMediaPlayer). If you need more information just post or PM me!

    Cheers!

As far as i know, TE has a IR port. If your cellphone has one, too. Then it will be easy to establish connections between the two devise.

Somebody mentioned WordSmith--your PDA already comes with Documents to Go. If you're interested, there's a site with reviews and comparisons of some of the major document programs for PDAs at http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/software/palm_office.htm

A decent free dictionary is NoahLite.

You can go to www.freewarepalm.com to find other free palm software.
