I recently was at the pet store when a cricket got loose and I caught him and brought him home and built him a habitat because I figured it would be pretty awesome having a cricket friend who chirps all night in your room. O: So I got an old aquarium and I put soil and some moist dirty vegetables from my moms compost bin in there, a wet sponge, and a bowl filled with rocks and water. I also put some of my pet Rat's bedding in there (EcoBedding) and a little bit of card board and moistened the cage down with a squirt bottle.
However he died two days later. Quite depressing really. He was my cricket friend.
I'm considering buying another/more cricket(s) and I would like to know how to build a habitat that they'll live longer than two days in? What do they eat, how should I give them something to drink, and what other things should I know?
