    magnitude and direction of the electric field (could really use some help)?

    The first two parts deal with the electric field and potential along the straight line joining the two electrodes shown in Figure 2. A potential difference of 3.5 V is applied between the electrodes. What is the magnitude and direction of the electric field along the line y = 4 cm? Note that the electric field is given by| E|= delta V/ delta x.

    What is the potential at the (4,4) cm point? The grid points are 1 cm apart. Note: The potential difference decreases uniformly between the two electrodes.

    Please leave an explanation. There are six parts to the question, and I need to understand the concept in order to finish the assignment. Thanks for your help!
