Office of the Attorney General? Is service of a writ of garnishment on the Office of the Attorney General required in Washington State? From what I've read at http://www.ofm.wa.gov/policy/25.60.htm the writ must be served on the Office of the Attorney General to be valid. It says, "If an agency (employer) receives a writ directly, without prior service on the Office of the Attorney General, return the writ to the creditor (plaintiff) nothing that it was improperly served.” When the Writ is properly served, the “effective date” is the date of service on the Office of the Attorney General to the last payroll ending on or before 60 calendar days after the service of the writ.

Does this apply to both public and private sector employers in Washington State?
